As reported by our colleagues at Billboard, the new Fab Four (One Direction) have just surpassed the original Fab Four (The Beatles) in terms of lodging their 5th top 10 debut on the Billboard 100 chart with Perfect. That accomplishment surpasses 4 such debuts by The Beatles. You can read the full article here. For 1D, their 5 debuting songs are

1. Perfect (at number 10 (2015));

2. Drag Me Down (at number (at number 3 (2015));

3. Best Song Ever (at number 2 (2013));

4. Story Of My Life (at number 6 (2013)); and

5. Live While We’re Young (at number 3 (2012)).

The corresponding debuts by The Beatles were:

1. Hey Jude (1968);

2. Get Back (1969);

3. Let It Be (1970); and

4. Free As A Bird (1995).

To some, the future of One Direction, who just last night performed their final show as part of their On The Road Again tour (culminating in more than 80 shows crossing 20 countries), is uncertain. However, following last night’s show Niall Horan Tweeted this:

Regardless of what happens, 1D has to take a bow. Since they broke into the scene a couple of years ago they have broken so many records and accomplished so much. Whether they went out on a bang or return to pick up where they left of remains to be seen but for now, Bravo! 1D.  Nice work.
