Some time ago we reported on Zayn Malik quitting his gig with mega boy band One Direction. Since then some Directioners and fans of the new Zayn have anxiously awaited Malik’s next tune or record, or both. Now, an apparent falling out has broken out between Malik and Naughty Boy (the music producer that Zayn began working with following 1D) because apparently the latter simply couldn’t wait any longer. We are referring to the leak of a portion of the video of Malik’s cover of Rae Sremmurd’s No Type which was apparently uploaded on Naughty Boy’s Snapchat yesterday. In response, just this morning, Malik had this to say about it on his Twitter page:
“Someone learned how to upload a video… maybe now he should learn how to use logic ha you ain’t shit but a faker”
About one minute later Malik added this Tweet:
“@NaughtyBoyMusic you fat joke stop pretending we’re friends no one knows you.”
Malik’s tweets caused the hashtag #ZAYNHASNOCHILL to trend worldwide this morning.
Here’s the point. Nothing is perfect; we all agree on that. But as we all know the grass is not often greener on the other side even though we think it often is. So, 1D is moving ahead on another world tour and plotting their fifth studio album under the tutelage of Simon Cowell. Zayn, on the other hand, has another internet debacle with a producer who was going to help him be who he really is after he left the mega group. Zayn has a long way to go and no doubt he’s talented and he should eventually land on his feet. But, you could have stayed in 1D and engaged in a sideshow like this in your spare time and not blown off the gig of a lifetime. That then begs the question, is the grass really greener over there?
