It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the launch of “Beato’s Blog.” A blog inspired and created under the wonderful tutelage of Fred Beato, the grand master of drum bags himself. As editor of the blog I am pleased to tell you that on “Beato’s Blog” we will be posting articles, interviews, and artist features (along with a few surprises) on a regular basis.
At “Beato’s Blog” Fred and I chose to set the bar high; some of our upcoming interviews and features include chatting with the great Gregg Bissonette as well as spending a few minutes with the always intriguing Andrew Shreve from Paiste Cymbals. We also had the pleasure of reviewing Gregg’s album “Warning Will Robinson” and our review is now posted. In between all of this I also had fun travelling to Danbury, Connecticut, to chat with some professional hockey players to talk about music and athletes. That blog will post shortly. And that’s only start.
The Upcoming features include a special sit down with Tris Imboden, the drummer from the iconic band, “Chicago.” At “Beato’s Blog” we are thrilled to talk with Tris who celebrates his 25th anniversary with Chicago. Congrats Tris! We also have the pleasure of reviewing a new album from Colleen Clark, a member of the Beato drum bag family and an excellent jazz performer in her own right. Also upcoming is a special visit to the historic “Professional Drum Shop” in Los Angeles. Talk about history. And finally, Fred and I will have the distinct honor of sitting down with the legendary jazz performer and master educator, Joe Porcaro, to talk drums. And if that wasn’t enough, in just a matter of days Fred and I will be as the 2015 NAMM Show and we are so excited to be able to spend a minute there with Grammy winner Raul Pineda, amongst others. So, stay tuned. “Beato’s Blog” promises to be entertaining and informative, but most of all, we just want to have fun. So, on behalf of all of us here at “Beato’s Blog” we thank you for your continued support.
