It was not even 24 hours ago that we covered the announcement of 1D’s fifth album. Now, it’s apparent that word of this announcement is spreading; rapidly and globally. Check out this provocative piece from our colleagues at People.com if you want to find out just how hot this announcement is and you can read it here. We have said it before. This band is a phenomenon and certainly not the first to ever be considered one however, it is the first born of the social media age. On many levels, including business, marketing, and promotion, it is fascinating to watch. Stay tuned.
No doubt this has been a whirlwind year for 1D with Zayn Malik departing the band, the boy-4 setting numerous records, and, widespread speculation that the band’s upcoming hiatus could be a permanent vacation. Today, the band has announced the name of its 5th album (Made In The A.M.) as well as the second track on the album behind the pop hit Drag Me Down. The new tune is entitled Infinity. A few minutes ago 1D frontman Harry Styles tweeted this:
You can pre order our new album ‘Made In The AM’ now on iTunes. Hope you enjoy the new song. All the love. https://t.co/09Uyytf1To

The new album is due out on November 13. 1D, who are just about to begin their European leg of this current tour in London on Thursday (at the O2 Arena) are scheduled to conclude the tour on October 31 in Sheffield, Great Britain. Thus, the timing of the new album’s release and this announcement again have the fingerprints of a Simon Cowell plan to further boost the band’s unimaginable popularity. However, is this their last album? Is this the final parting shot from Styles and company? Does this album have any bearing on the group staying together or is this the fulfillment of a contractual obligation prior to separating? Time will tell. Stay tuned.
