For ages bands have been covering other artists’ material and every once in a while you take note of an exceptional cover of someone else’s material.
Editor’s Note: In fact, sometimes the cover version of a tune is more popular than the original. Case in point is Guns N’ Roses’ Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door (which was originally written by Bob Dylan); I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston (it was originally done by Dolly Parton); and, Take Me To The River by the Talking Heads (this was a cover of an Al Green song).
To prove our point, you need to check out The 1975’s cover of One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful.
What Makes You Beautiful was One Direction’s first big hit which was released in 2011. The 1975 is an up and coming alternative-rock band from England. This cover version shows us a different side of The 1975 and it’s a great one.
