Well, we close out another busy week here at Beato’s Blog and to boot, it’s a holiday weekend. So we will begin by wishing everyone a happy Fourth of July! We will also leave you with some beach and poolside reading.
First, we were sad to report on the loss of the epic bassist Chris Squire. Indeed, sad news. You can read our ode to Chris here.
Second, we told you about Farm Borough. Yes, a county based festival in NYC! Glad to see that going on and you can read about Farm Borough here.
Next, we told you about the music community’s reaction to our Supreme Court’s decision regarding marriage equality. You can about that reaction here.
We also had the pleasure of updating everyone on developments with Band Of Brothers, a documentary on the Porcaro Brothers. Please take the time to check it out. You can read about updates on the documentary here.
One of the highlights of our week was also reporting about the Foo Fighters upcoming performance on July 4th in our Nation’s capital. Great to see the boys back in the action and you can read about the Foos here.
In interesting news, we also reported on Robin Thicke’s comments regarding his performance during the Blurred Lines trial. You can read about Robin’s comments here.
We also told you about Prince pulling his catalog off of Spotify. You can read about that here.
Finally, we had the pleasure of reporting on Amy, a new documentary on Amy Winehouse. The film looks riveting for sure. Sad to see such a young performer go just too early but this film and Amy’s story is indeed compelling. You can read our review here.
Have a great 4th everyone! See you next week.
