One Of The Most Amazing Drummers Ever
All of us have seen things in our lives that have amazed us. If you are a drummer this video will absolutely astonish you. It did for me. It is a performance by a young man by the name of Daniel Potts who hails from California.
Simply incredible and a lesson to us all about determination and grit. Great job Daniel. Keep rockin’. Check out this video of Daniel:
Great White To Return To Rhode Island
Who can forget the tragedy that occurred at a Rhode Island nightclub in 2003 called The Station? As we all know, during a rock show pyrotechnics went out of control causing flammable sound insulation to catch fire–a fire that ultimately took 100 lives. This incident ruined many other lives and careers and even put some people behind bars for significant periods of time. The band performing that infamous night was none other than Great White, which was lead by Jack Russell.
Now, twelve years later, Jack Russell’s Great White will play its first New England show since The Station incident. It will take place on August 15 when the band will headline the Party in the Pasture at Harvest Hill Farms in Mechanic Falls, Maine. The concert will be filmed for a documentary, according to a July 27 post on the North East Concerts Facebook Page.
Promoters are expecting to sell as many as 7,000 tickets for Russell’s return to New England. Promoters have also said that Russell himself is welcoming the return and that Russell is “extremely excited to play our event.”
Hopefully, bringing Russell and crew back to New England can help in the healing process. One can only imagine what emotions this trip will bring out.

Zoso? Uh Uh. . . . .Zono! No Led Zep Reunion Planned
One of the most commonly asked questions of iconic Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page is whether or not fans can ever expect to see the supergroup (minus the great John Boham of course) reunite.
Page recently responded by saying this:
“Led Zeppelin was a creative force that you can’t just snap your fingers and create. It was a blend of these four master musicians, and each of us were important to the sum total of what the band was. I like to think that if it had been me that wasn’t there, the others would have made the same decision not to carry on. Besides, we couldn’t just get somebody in there and say, ‘Do this, this way?’ That wouldn’t have been honest or of the same creative nature that we had always striven for. And it’s why we still have only done it properly once.”
Page continued and added that that the band has “tried it a few times,” however, “[i]t always seemed to be done in a hurry and it never worked. That’s why the O2 show was done with such intent. We rehearsed loads so that Jason—John’s son—felt like he was part of the band and not just some novelty. We all needed it to be that way. But I can’t foresee doing it again, because we all have to agree and agree for the right reasons.”
Having said that, is it time for Page to move on? His answer seems to say that it is.
“I’ve been totally focused for the past few years on getting the remasters right and then promoting them. But on July 31, when the last batch of remasters comes out, I’ll be able to exhale and think about doing something new. I’ll be able to think about the guitar, and recording new music—because I’ve already gotten music written—and I’m really looking forward to that and really focusing on it.”
That answer may not be a popular one but in the end there was no one who could ever replace John Bonham, not even his own son (Jason) who is a great drummer in his own right.
Thus, what could be a more fitting tribute to one of the greatest drummers to ever perform than for his band to refuse to go on without him? If you think of it from that angle then there is no greater honor that could have been bestowed on Bonham. A fitting tribute to Bonzo indeed.
Strength In Numbers Rings True For 1,000 Musicians Jamming To Foo Fighters’ Tune
In this next video you will watch something spectacular; one thousand musicians gathered in an Italian field in Cesena, Italy, to perform the Foo Fighters’ track Learn to Fly. The reason? To impress Dave Grohl and have him bring his band to play in the town. It’s pretty amazing to see this many drummers play in perfect synchronization while guitarists rock out in 4/4 time all while a mountain of singers belt out the lyrics in an amazing fashion. All of this was part of the Rockin 1000 project created by Fabio Zaffagnini.
In a video posted on the Foo Fighters’ Facebook page on July 31 Grohl roughly had this to say in response:
“Hi, Cesena! I am David, hello. I’m sorry, I don’t speak Italian. Only a little, a little. That video — but how beautiful! Very beautiful. Thank you very much. We are arriving [coming], I promise. We’ll see each other soon. Thank you very much. I love you. Bye.”
A job well done by all.
