Few can question the King of Pop’s stature in our musical culture and heritage. Obviously, we are referring to the late and great Michael Jackson. Well, as an example of how strong MJ still is (MJ passed away on June 25, 2009), as is being reported by our colleagues at ABC News, Jackson’s ever popular album entitled Thriller (1982) is still selling and selling well. (You can check out ABC’s report here. In fact, according to the report,
“The album has sold 30 million copies in the United States, making Jackson the first artist to attain 30-time multiplatinum status, the Recording Industry Association of America and Jackson’s estate announced Wednesday.”
Thriller, the 9 track album which sports some of Jackson’s biggest hits, including Wanna Be Startin’ Somthin, The Girl Is Mine, Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean, and, P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing), is a must for any record collection. That was the case in 1982 and it still is the case in 2015. Indeed, the King of Pop lives on.
