Yes, Jeff Lynne and crew did perform at the 2015 Grammy’s with Ed Sheeran (much to the liking of Sir Paul McCartney) and at Irving Plaza in NYC on November 20th of this year, but for those of you who were not aware ELO (k/n/a Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra) is back–stateside that is. ELO, a mega band whose height of popularity spiked in the 70s and 80s which resulted in sales topping 50 million records. is poised for a return with Jeff Lynne at the wheel.  In fact, the group has just announced new tour dates starting in April in 2016 in the U.K. and just last week the group performed in Los Angeles. It has been decades since the group has played in the United States.

You can check out a great review of last week’s show by our colleagues at Consequence of Sound here. ELO is a welcome sight as the band always seemed to offer something for everyone. From what the review says, it sounds like Jeff Lynne is ready to pick up where he left off. Good show Jeff.

Editor’s Note: Jeff Lynne’s ELO has also just released a new album (it was released on November 13, 2015 (Columbia)), which is entitled Alone In The Universe.
