With a renaissance of sorts happening with the Cuban nation and our country our own Fred Beato and his band, Fredy Boy, could not have picked a better time to release their new video about their recording of Nosotros, a Cuban bolero. Fredy Boy’s rendition of Nosotros will be a featured track on their upcoming debut album and the record features a number of marque musicians such as Grammy Winning drummer Raul Pineda and the multi-talented bassist/vocalist Tomas Croucier, amongst others.

The historic track (which when translated to English means “we”) was originally composed by Pedro Junco, Jr., in 1920 and it has been sung by more than 400 artists including Placido Domingo and Jose Feliciano.

In speaking on the selection and recording of the track, Fred Beato told us this:

“This track is not only a classic but it has a special meaning to me. To have it as one of the featured tracks on our debut album just means so much to me. I can’t wait to share our interpretation of it with everyone.

Of particular note is the great drum and brush work on this track by my dear friend, Joe Porcaro.”

Editor’s Note: Fredy Boy’s debut album entitled Tail Of The Shark is now available for pre-order here.
