Unfortunately, the Red Hot Chili Peppers had to abruptly cancel their show last night at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre which was part of Weenie Roast 2016 which is hosted by KROQ. According to a representative for the band, Kiedis was experiencing “extreme stomach pain” which required he be taken to a Los Angeles area hospital. Check out Flea talking to the crowd as per this fan’s posting on Instagram:
Subsequently, Peppers drummer Chad Smith Tweeted this:
NO one’s more disappointed than us that we couldn’t perform tonight. Sending love and a speedy recovery to my brother Anthony. — Chad Smith (@RHCPchad) May 15, 2016
KROQ also added this:
Unfortunately due to illness the @ChiliPeppers were forced to cancel their set tonight at #WeenieRoast. More details to come.

Our sincere thoughts are with Anthony Kiedis to make a speedy recovery particularly with band’s impending release of their new album (entitled The Getaway) which is scheduled to drop on June 17.
