Beyoncé and Adele are global superstars because of their incredible voices, emotional songs, and larger-than-life personas. They’ve each come from humble beginnings and gone on to worldwide pop domination, selling millions of concert tickets and albums. This year, they’re nominated against each other in four GRAMMY categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
With the Grammy Awards being held in 10 days on Sunday, February 12, live on CBS, music experts have now chimed in with their predictions for who will win on music’s biggest night.
Beyonce (“Lemonade”) is predicted to win Album of the Year. It would be the first win in that category for Beyonce, despite the fact that she has won 20 Grammys thus far in her career, which makes her the second most awarded woman in history.
Adele (“25”) in second place. Adele has won 10 Grammys, half as many as Beyonce, but Adele has only ever lost three times. Also, unlike Beyonce, Adele is already a proven winner for Album of the Year, having prevailed for “21” in 2012. Artists don’t often win the top category multiple times, but last year the recording academy gave Taylor Swift her second AOTY title for “1989,” so we know they’re willing to make an exception.
Just 24 hours after Beyoncé announced that she is expecting twins, the singer is set to take center stage at the 2017 Grammy Awards. Beyoncé has earned the most nominations at this year’s award show for her hit album Lemonade so it only makes sense that she would do us the honors of performing live. And not only is Beyoncé up for many, many awards come February 12 (along with Adele, her biggest competition for the evening), but she’s currently the most nominated female artist in history.
As if that wasn’t enough, it turns out that Jay Z‘s leading lady has broken yet another record with her nominations this year. For the 2017 Grammys, Beyoncé is the first and only artist to ever be nominated in not one, not two but four different genres.
There is a lot of speculation right now and it may be too early to tell but as for right now, Beyoncé seems to have the vote.
